Art Classes for all Grades K-5th

Live Zoom Class: Color and Shape in Modern Art w Ms. Seelhoff
Tuesday 2:30-3:30 (gr K-2 )
Have you ever wondered about how the color green is created? What about purple? Join us in this live Zoom class as we create our own secondary colors and beautiful paintings. We will study the work of Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky, two abstract painters. We begin the term by learning about primary and secondary colors and the color wheel. We’ll have fun painting with watercolors, drawing with crayons and colored pencils, as well as creating collages using bright- colored construction paper. We’ll look for shapes and patterns in each collage and painting that we design. We will learn about artist’s studios and think about what we would want if we could design our own spaces to paint and draw in at home. Students will relax and listen to stories as we explore children’s books that introduce us to this topic. Mixing colors is a rewarding magical process. And fun! We hope that you will join us! A list of suggested materials will be emailed to you before class begins.
