Chess

Daytime chess in school offers all children in the early grades the chance to learn the basics of this great game. For those students who would like to take their game to the next level, Arts and Athletics offer afterschool chess featuring instruction by Grand Masters and National Champions. To support our students’ development in chess, we will host chess tournaments during the school year.

Tournament, hosted by us one each month at PS 9, are also a great way to accelerate our learning.  The next one is on Sunday, November 12th. Click here for more details and to signup!
