Spanish This Spring!

We have a number of Spanish offerings for Spring 2021

Arts and Athletics offer Spanish programs in person and online! Learn this wonderful language while engaging while having lots of fun.

Spanish Immersion Outdoor Program Mondays and Wednesday 2:00-5:00 pm

“Aventuras en el Parque” is a full immersion Spanish adventure where we maintain the original essence of the outdoor adventure program philosophy where the role of a teacher is to accompany, observe and document the children’s activities from behind the scenes asking open-ended questions about the important discoveries of the day, thus allowing children to share a deep connection with nature and their peers by owning their space and experiences in Spanish.

Learn Spanish in a fun and interactive way with Ms Gaby!

Hello, my name is Ms. Gaby; I am a passionate and dedicated educator with years of teaching experience that include preschool and after-school programs. I enjoyed being with the children to help them develop a love of my native language. I was born and raised in Paraguay. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2012 from New Jersey City University and continue my education in childhood and early childhood education throughout my career. I am certified by Learning Without Tears: Pre-K Readiness, Literacy & Writing, High Scope Curriculum, Teaching Strategies assessment, and curriculum development, as well as the Language workshop for children (LWFC).
I look forward to having a lot of fun online while teaching the children my native language!

Each week, the children will go on a full immersion Spanish adventure. Children will learn and explore Spanish in a fun and interactive approach. The class enables each student to become fluent rapidly in simple phrases and sentences on subjects such as greetings, describing the weather, naming simple objects at home and outside, basic clothing and food, days of the week, months, seasons, and numbers. Emphasis is put on a direct speaking approach. From experience, online is very good for learning to speak because language is mainly sound connected to everyday activities. We will also do the writing of simple words and sentences.

Students will be guided through different activities each week. Children will explore Spanish shows and tel sing, learn, and having a lot of fun.
