Dance Instruction at 88th Street

Jazz with Jeff–Jeff Edmond Teaches Jazz Dance on Saturdays! Click here to register.

Jeff is an accomplished dancer, director, and choreographer and has been teaching with the afterschool for over twenty years. Although he’s famous for his direction of our musical theater productions at PS 9, Jeff’s first love was dance. Specializing in tap and jazz, Jeff has taught USDAN, Steps on Broadway, and, of course, in the Arts and Athletics afterschool program.

Jeff and the First Steps Crew

Known as a task-master when directing his musical theater shows, Jeff looks forward to dance classes because they can be more relaxed and fun. “Putting on a show is a great challenge, which I love and the students love as well. But a show can also be stressful but you’re always up against time constraints. You’ve got to learn a lot of material by a set date and it means that everyone has to concentrate and work hard at each rehearsal. Dance classes can be more laid back and I enjoy that too!”

Students can sign up for Jeff’s Saturday classes through our MINDBODY registration system. Visit MINDBODYonline.com to set up an account and view all of the available classes.
