For the past decade, Arts and Athletics has conducted camps during the summer break to meet the interests of children as well as the childcare needs of their parents. You can sign up for the full seven weeks or one week at a time, as needed. Single-day coverage in the Outdoor Adventure group is also an option if there is space available.

Read below to find out about our Outdoor Adventure Camp and Performing Arts Camp options.

Outdoor Adventure Camp

Outdoor adventure camp will include activities like Hiking, Bird Watching, Wilderness Adventure, Observational Drawing, Plant Life in Central Park, Landscape Drawing, Gardening, and Science Themed projects. Campers will also participate in their favorite cooperative games like, Soccer and ‘Steal the Bacon.’ We’ll also look for sprinklers to cool off on hot days! Register for one week or all seven!

Performing Arts Camp

Performing Arts, including instrumental music instruction and musical theater production, are core programs for the Arts and Athletics organization. Over the course of the summer, you will see marked growth in your child’s skill and in their confidence performing for others. The foundation of these programs is, of course, our amazing instructors.

Under the direction of veteran Afterschool teacher, Jeff Edmond, students will put on a new show each Friday afternoon. From Monday to Thursday, students will agree on a theme, pick songs, and learn simple choreography all in preparation for a brand-new show each Friday afternoon–family and friends are always encouraged to attend! Performing Arts camp includes daily lunch in Central Park.

*As campers are working on a new show each week, there are no half-day or single-day options for the Performing Arts camp.

Summer Time Jam Instrumental Music Camp

Parents have asked us to include instrumental music instruction as part of our summer time offerings. And we’re totally psyched to do so!Instruction will be available in trumpet, clarinet, piano, saxophone, violin, guitar, and percussion. Your child can make tremendous progress over the summer when they have fewer distractions and plenty of time to practice with teachers always on hand to provide guidance and encouragement! (Click here to learn more about our instrumental music teachers and the program that is growing in our schools.)

Our music staff are a multi-talented bunch, masters of their instruments, but also great teachers and coaches in range of activities from math to soccer! Each day of summer camp will involve one-on-one instruction on their instruments, workshops on music notation and composition, and sessions on music appreciation where students will be exposed to recordings and biographies of the legends. The price for coverage from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday is $600, the same price as ten half-hour private lessons, and in summer it will include the full range of camp activities. Our hope is to create momentum during the summer that will carry over to the school year starting in September. Is your student ready to take his or her playing to the next level…and then level after that?!
