Dear Families,
As another wonderful summer comes to an end, we’re taking a moment to celebrate everything our students created, learned, and accomplished during 10 incredible weeks at Arts and Athletics.
Throughout the summer, students participated in two tracks: Musical Theater and Instrumental Music. Each week brought a new opportunity to learn, rehearse, collaborate, and ultimately share their hard work through a live performance.
In our Musical Theater track, students worked together to bring a new show to life each week. From learning songs and choreography to developing characters and scenes, they explored every part of putting on a production. This summer’s shows included favorites such as The Jungle Book and The Sound of Music, along with many other performances that challenged our students to step outside of their comfort zones and grow as performers.
Our Instrumental Music students spent their summer building their skills as young musicians. Whether working on piano, violin, trumpet, clarinet, recorder, or another instrument, students learned to play together, listen to one another, read music, and prepare pieces for our weekly performances.
One of the best parts of our summer program is watching everything come together at the end of each week. Students who may have arrived on Monday learning a new song, scene, or piece of music were stepping on stage by the end of the week to share what they had accomplished.
We’d love to share one of those special moments with you! You can watch our performance of The Sound of Music and view the program from the show here.
Over these 10 weeks, our students did so much more than rehearse and perform. They made new friends, worked as a team, took creative risks, discovered new interests, and built confidence in themselves and one another. Whether this was their first summer with us or they’ve been part of the Arts and Athletics community for years, each student helped make this summer memorable.
A huge thank you to our families for sharing your children with us and to our instructors for the energy, creativity, and care they brought to the program each day. We’re incredibly proud of what our students accomplished this summer.
And while we’re sad to see summer come to an end, there’s plenty more ahead! Our Fall Cycle begins September 14, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another school year filled with creativity, learning, movement, music, and fun.
See you this fall!
With gratitude and excitement,
The Arts and Athletics Team
